the realisation over my life that the vast majority of the general public will only receive a piece of media well if it’s got a satisfying happy ending with clear relationships that conform to the norm and looking back over my body of work since I was about 9 years old and realising I have never once felt compelled to write a completely conclusive narrative where everything is ok and everyone’s feelings and needs are met at the end because I’ve always understood that real life just isn’t like that and therefore have always instinctively found narratives that end in complete gratification where every character is settled vaguely discomforting

I have like less than a month until exams and I’m sat here drawing my characters as gay dogs. what am I even doing anymor

if I met a genie I’d ask for world peace and stopping climate change as my first two wishes and then I’d briefly consider curing all diseases before making my final wish which would be being able to read a couple of fan fics about my own characters

sometimes I actually feel unwell with my characters like I come down with an illness every month or so and the virus that’s caused it is the characters. I’m sick with them. like one of those fungi that takes over a small animals brain and makes them go wild. and before someone says “that sounds unhealthy ☝️” I KNOW
