this is a post about tumblr user and actual angel vocea
i have been through a pretty tough few months and even harder few days. i used to love everyone and everything and be constantly perky and joyful- but have felt withdrawn, bitter, angry, and miserable. and recently, i received a message from vocea, whom i had met at 221b con in atlanta and kept in touch with a bit since then. she offered help and advice and a shoulder to cry on
i felt horrible today, entirely, completely, weak and worthless and depressed and hopeless, and messaged vocea- she said i could contact her whenever, for whatever. and she brightened my spirits more than i could have ever imagined
she told me something along the lines of how i, as a person, am made of the same bits and pieces that the biggest and brightest parts of the universe are made of and how i am much stronger than the sadness that is temporarily trying to weigh me down
she made me feel important and special and worthwhile and strong.
i'm not entirely recovered, of course, but i feel significantly happier and more important.
i love vocea, and i love humanity because even though there are horrible people who do horrible things in it, there are also people like vocea in it. i'm not religious and didn;t want to look to prayer or worship to feel whole again; i don't believe in a god or a higher power. but i believe in the kindness and purity and magic of humanity, i believe in the ability of those with sparks within them to shine light into people whose flames have started to diminish, and i believe in people like vocea.
and this is why you ruin my whole life (ps it needs to be 221bcon rn so we can all hang out again i'm dying)
