0neX // HCS Pt. 2
CWS // Digestion, disregard of prey, use of poison
Expanding more on how 0neX's digestion works, the poison in their system runs deep, it's laced into every part of their being. Even when you're stuck stewing in their guts you can feel yourself getting weaker before any acids even start doing their job.
Their body just kind of works like that, the changes they went through in the banlands have made a highly efficient machine of a person, one that can break down anything from flesh to bone to metal. It keeps their prey docile throughout though, making sure that any food that goes in can't fight even slightly hard enough to cause any actual disruption.
As soon as you had been caught by 0neX, you had every intention of fighting and struggling until the end, but now that you were settled in their stomach it felt... useless. Your whole body felt like it was ready to just give up, and the fog that was steadily accumulating in your brain was ready to allow it without any further thought. The slick, groaning surroundings you had been crammed into began to shift as the pred who had claimed you began to walk, paying you little mind as they made their way out of the hunting grounds. They had already acquired what they came here for.
0neX doesn't really view prey as people whatsoever, once they've got your upper body sliding down their throat you don't really classify as someone worthy of their own thoughts and opinions, to them at least. Any protests you may be able to get out before the poison takes its toll fall entirely on deaf ears, they're used to the screams of those who have fallen at their hands, it's nothing new.
Interestingly enough, that lack of care or attention can be somewhat peaceful. Opposed to some of the preds that relish in your panic, they go about their day as if they had just eaten a regular meal and treat you as such. You can catch them relaxing in private, reading to themselves or even conversing with the few people there they can stand the company of. It doesn't matter if you overhear or see any of what takes place, your point of view is irrelevant to them.
The acids had already began to cloud your mind, shifting your train of thought to a much more confused, delirious one. Despite that though, you could just barely make out what was taking place outside of the churning organ you found yourself captive in.
"CAUGHT ONE ALREADY? NOT BAD WORK. I'LL BE HEADED OUT SOON."
There was a figure, black and yellow and red, everything had begun to blend together after the first hour of digestion, but you could at least make out basic colours still. Things were definitely hard to process anymore, but you could still faintly see a bright red eye staring in at you as the figure moved down, hunching over if you had to guess.
"DECENT SIZE. WERE THEY WITH A GROUP?"
"what does it matter, john? it's not a 'they' anymore. it's just a meal. go look if you're so curious."
Despite all of this though, 0neX is the type to recognize someone that they've eaten before, locking onto them from across the map. It's a bit of a mystery to most on why they target people they've hunted prior, but Sh3dletsky seems insistent that it's a territorial thing. More than this, they will especially target those who Sh3dletsky has eaten before.
If you come back into the hunting grounds right after Sh3d finished you off, you can expect to be tracked by 0neX like there's no tomorrow. They take it seriously, going out of their way to get to you as fast as possible in efforts to be quicker than Sh3d was in your previous encounter.
This is also the type of situation in which they will speak with you the most, it almost changes the way they view you, less as food as more as an achievement, a victory over their rival. Any conversation with them you might find will mostly entail shit-talking the admin they despise so much, but it's better than nothing.
It had been mere seconds of reentering the hunting ground after your body finally given up in the unrelenting oven that was Sh3dletsky's stomach, you took a minute to breathe and stretch, not having the luxury of fresh air or room to move around previously. You intended to hang back by the edge of the map, steering clear of most threats to your life so you actually had a minute to recuperate some energy, but it would seem that the rival hacker of your prior pred had different plans in mind.
A corrupted slash soared by you, just barely missing your neck as you moved out of the way seconds before impact, your head whipping up to scan the area it had come from. Before you had even a moment to react though you were being rushed, the green and black figure was on you and pinning you to the wall you had been leaning against within seconds. Your eyes travelled up their chest to land on their face in shock and fear, their cold eyes examining you carefully in a way you hadn't quite experienced in past encounters.
"you are small, how is it that he took five minutes just to catch you?"
Their words weren't reserved or rhetorical, instead they were bold and inquisitory, they stood silent as they awaited an answer from you. It felt almost unreal, they were actually prompting a conversation from you, even if you knew how this would end it felt damn near nice for a change. The words tumbled out of your mouth as you explained how things had gone, it felt awkward explaining how you had evaded the pred for awhile until they eventually, frustratedly caught up to you, but jarringly enough this seemed amusing for the pred to hear.
A low, resonating laugh came from them as they leaned back from you, one of their large, clawed hands falling to your shoulder. Their laughter slowed to a huff before their grip tightened, being used to lift you up with ease and bring you face to face with themselves.
"how pathetic he is. it is truly disappointing, wouldn't you agree?"
Their lips had twisted into a sharp smirk, you quickly nodded in agreement in hopes of mercy. You even went out of your way to mention how he had stopped to catch his breath at one point, letting out an anxious laugh while praying that this somehow got you some kind of favour with them. A quiet grumble hit your ears from deep within their abdomen though, and as you noticed the way their expression changed in an instant you knew for a fact that any hopes you had were empty. You both knew how this would end, better to savour what little company you had while it lasted.
They aren't a bad guy, they just have their priorities straight. Well, they are kind of evil actually, but that's besides the point.
0nex is a very interesting pred to me, I really like writing about them, hopefully this is to your liking :)))
