#03 watchthrough

currently about to start episode 6 and my thoughts on the first 5 eps so far:

Okay, real talk? I'm always gonna have a soft spot for Rise Raph. He's my beeg boy. My massive son. First Raph I really emotionally latched onto. <3

HOWEVER.

03 RAPH IS. SO GOOD. At first I wasn't too sure abt him since I was still used to Large Stressed Chaos Son, so Small Fighty Raph didn't really click in my brain, but then we got that scene in one of the first episodes where Stockman's mousers are cornering the guys and April in the factory, and Raph did his "Even you, Mikey. Especially you" line and i AUGH-

And as soon as that moment basically spelled it out for my brain, I couldn't unsee it. Sure, Rise emphasized the anxiety aspect a bit more when they plonked him into the oldest brother spot but Raphs have always been the protectors. They have to wrangle emotions too big for them and manage to keep their family safe at the same time. It shows as anger often but DO YOU SEE HIM.

HIM.

SON.

raph: ugh, i hate kids.

ALSO RAPH, LITERALLY 30 SECONDS LATER:

ya can't sneak away from a ninja, kid. >:) *proceeds to keep tyler safe and save his mom*

he'll take down a dozen bad guys with ease but one (1) gramma makes him bluescreen
