F1 News dated 1 June 1993. The cover shows Ayrton Senna in the Marlboro McLaren. The cover celebrated his sixth win at the Monaco Grand Prix. It's a record that is likely to stand for some time. It was Senna's fifth Monaco win in a row and over the ten years between 1984 and 1993 only he and Alain Prost won the race. Graham Hill and Michael Schumacher are still the only two drivers to have won the race 5 times.

The Savage Sword of Conan No. 53, June 1980. Cover by Earl Norem. Black and white magazine from Curtis Magazines / Marvel that ran from 1974 to 1995. There was an episode of Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em where Frank Spencer covers up a whole in a hotel floor (which he had just made) with a carpet. Conan has no doubt fallen victim to some similar behaviour here.

Someone over in Judy must have been a fan of The Tornados. Competitions from Judy No. 177, dated 1 June 1963 and No. 192, dated 14 September 1963. Robot and The Ice Cream Man got to No. 17 and 18 respectively in the UK charts. These competitions closed about 60 years ago so a bit late to enter now. DC Thomson.

Fury No. 12, dated 1 June 1977. Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos cover by Carlos Ezquerra. At first glance this cover is fine but I'm afraid, for me, on a closer look this is a rare misfire from Carlos. He has obviously been taken this interior panel as a starting point but the character's neck coupled with the way he's sitting back on his honkers and holding the machine gun in the air just push things a bit too far for me. I am pleased though that I've been able to use the word 'honkers' in one of my posts.
