Aoba is very protective of his mother! She is one of the very few people Aoba properly respects!
Despite all the secrets he keeps from her, he considers the two of them ‘close’ (closer than he is with Ran and their father, anyway); and would do anything to protect (and help) her if she asked.
He’ll call her when he’s out late on Blue Square business just so she doesn’t stay up late and worry, he’ll look after her if and when she becomes sick, he’ll take time away from his studies or hobbies to help her with her half of the chores -- and when he finally moves out and into his own apartment, he’ll visit her on a regular basis and offer her some of his pay check to make sure she’s living comfortably!
TL;DR Aoba is a mommy’s boy and he’ll protect her and take care of her at all costs!
