sonny's thinking too much again. anyway, i do agree that jug is likely aroace. he reads well that way, even in non-chip zydarsky runs. but i also don't think it's incorrect to say he loves betty.
it's like , he loves her in a secret third way. not just as a friend and not as someone he'd want to have a relationship with but he still cares so deeply about her that if the time came where he felt he was being forced to find someone, he tells her more than once that she's the first girl he'd fall in love with. (hello? freak. i love him. he's so fucking stupid)
i don't know. bughead to me feels very baseline as a ship. it's like "hey look at me i'm a marginal fan of this thing." or "i watched riverdale." (which, no offense. i get it, trust me, it's an easy ship to love. they're cute together!!) but i feel like if you put actual thought into it, it's more sweet / romantic for lack of a better word if they're not actually labeling their relationship.
oh, betty? you mean the girl he dates when his best friend tosses her aside for the nth time? the one he knows his soul is tied to but he can't love her the way she expects and wants to be loved and that literally crushes him every time he's reminded of that fact?
think about that. think about the emotional weight of knowing you're not romantically attracted to a girl that you know deserves the world , but you continue to love her in your own special way. and she understands you.
