âOh wow, youâre incredible! Horrifying and absolutely grotesque but really, thatâs wonderful!â
The shambling thing stuttered to a halt and cocked its head, surprised by the enthusiasm in the voice of the stranger, who should have been screaming in terror by now, if any of the other interactions it had had were anything to go by. It let out a questioning croak, before growling and continuing to stalk towards its victim.Â
âWait, wait, wait,â the human said again, now with a grin stretching across their face, âI think Iâve got my phone somewhere, let me take a picture. Wow, youâre beautiful. Do each of your heads have its own thought processes or is it a collective mind? Iâm sorry, is that rude? I donât mean to be rude.â
The thing stopped again, mumbling incoherently. It wasnât rude, at least it didnât think that was rude. It had never been asked a question before, mostly because it couldnât exactly answer any, but at the same time, no had ever bothered to stop and talk to it. It was just a monster, anyway. The humanâs brow furrowed as they watched it sink slowly to the ground.
âOh. Are you alright?â
It was silent for a moment, staring down at its many hands as if contemplating its own existence for the first time. Finally, it croaked again, and the voice that followed the sound was just awful.
âOne....thought.â it choked out with effort, before looking back up at the human.Â
For their part, the human burst into a smile and sank down to sit on the floor across from the monster.
âOh, great. Can you tell me more?â
