Illusive and someone whose morals bend with ambiguity and makes for a deceptive man that rarely stays in one place or allows others to see his motivations. The cat disappears and reappears aqueously similar to Piet flitting in and out of identities. The character is associated with dreams and illusions and indicative and wearing a theme around the Cheshire Cat is an homage to Piet’s love of games, playing with people and how mysterious he is.
A long coat is worn and dyed to be a palatinate purple, goes to the knee with dark purple buttons so dark they look black. It resembles a pirate coat but not one that is easily recognisable at that as it is altered to combine the style of the area but it is the length and snug fit that keep to the pirate theme. The shirt underneath is loose-fitting blouse with bishop sleeve dyed to a Byzantium. The pants are tailored slim and a dark purple with subtle stripes that flow from the coat into the pants with fine lines only noticed up close, they dyed with a mix of dark magenta and palatinate purple.

Most of what Peter Drake has is tied up in the business that he owns with the ports/dock and the permanent residence is always in London. It is extravagant and in the middle of the noble homes in London. During the off season it is quiet since most people have moved back to their country homes or family seats.
WHAT ARE THE MAJOR CHANGES THAT HAPPENED DURING THIS TIMESKIP?
More scrutiny happened with any good favour Piet had as Peter Drake dwindled as a result of the rumour in Whistledown that his name is false. The rivalry with Nalan Das and actions taken there lessened the loyalty he earned with his workers. The son of the police commissioner no longer works for him and that is another layer of protection vanished.
WHAT DID PETER MISS ABOUT THE SOCIAL SEASON?
Opportunity and the variety that the season bought. In the off season and focusing on the businesses made for a very dull routine and without Whistledown, Peter was unable to keep tabs on people and does not know what has gone on with other people.
WHAT DOES PETER WANT FROM THE 1814 SOCIAL SEASON?
Last season Peter was unable to secure the protection he wanted so this season he will be more focused on that and making more effort to connect with society instead of being on the side watching. Now that he is familiar with most people and families, he will feel as if he can navigate it more.
HOW DID PETER’S RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS CHANGE OVER THE BREAK?
Peter has no family for that to be changed but things changed with the people in his employ. They have lost trust and respect in him which does not bode well. It makes him think of his past and what people did to leaders they no longer trusted.
WHAT MOMENT FROM THE 1813 SEASON REPLAY IN PETER’S MIND AND WHY?
There are a few moments. Reuniting with his lost love is a big moment but the one that Piet focuses on is the way he handled Nalan Das and how that has rippled though his life even in the off season. One rash act took a lot from him and he wants to get it back.
WHAT IS PETER LOOKING FORWARD TO, RETURNING TO LONDON?
More opportunities to get back the respect of his employees, making alliances with powerful people in an attempt to get what he wants and getting revenge on people he believes has done him wrong.
WHAT IS PETER DREADING FACING WHEN THEY RETURN TO LONDON?
Whistledown reveals any more of his secrets and people looking into his past in case that jeopardizes his future. There is also the embarrassment of two public failed courting's that he does not want to talk about but knows it will come up.
