Are you a meteorologist? I really want to be one, but I'm scared there are not enough job opportunities, is this true???
First of all, I’m not a meteorologist, however I did want to be one for the longest time and I’ve looked into the job opportunities. You should take into consideration this might differ on your location, as I’m from The Netherlands and things could be completely different elsewhere. In this country there’s basically one major government weather institute that does mostly research and gives out general weather warnings etc. Then there’s smaller more independent companies that give away weather reports and consults to other companies (such as media or festivals). As I’ve read there’s currently most demand in the research world; there’s plenty of stuff meteorologists want to know and figure out and where they need people for. So if you have the brains or passion for that, I’d totally recommend you give it a try. I personally realized I couldn’t do it because the course and job involved too many physics and math (which I admit, I’m absolutely rubbish at), but if you don’t see this as a problem or can develop these skills.. You got my green lights man!
