I've been thinking a bit recently about a job I had a few years ago.
IT. Lots of planning meetings with the R&D team. You know, the usual. Our manager would talk about the resources we needed for each project. Computers, bandwidth, software, people...
This conversation played out a lot, and it irritates me even in retrospect...
Manager: We'll need 5 resources shifted to this team, then...
Me: Do you mean people?
Manager: Huh? Oh, yeah. So anyway, 5 resources...
Me: People. We're people. Not objects.
Manager: *rolls eyes* 5 people moving to this team, I think X team has some excess...
