idk if i ever posted this but i wrote this as a warmup like months ago and i figured i might as well share it so enjoy this vaguely military/low fantasy tetsu auÂ
there's a sword in your hand. it's surprisingly light, the steel well-balanced.
looking up at you is the boy you love.
there's a sword in your hand, and you know what must be done.
"please," kuroo rasps. "i know you don't want to do this."
your grip tightens around the handle of the sword. "you don't know anything about me." the words cut deeper than your blade could, it seems; he tenses beneath the rope keeping him in place, a maelstrom of emotions flashing like lightning in his eyes before his jaw clenches in what must be a herculean effort to not bite back with a response, to call forth the thunder.
you were no stranger to his storms.
("it's like you don't even know me," you tease, watching your reflections in the mirror as you come up behind him. you're both in uniform, accolades pinned in accordance with regulation and his hair tamed to the best of your joint abilities. it's still not enough, but you figure someone like kuroo wouldn't need to rely on appearance to make a good impression. still, you think, running your hands along his biceps, it definitely doesn't hurt. you watch as the corners of his lips quirk up as you close the distance between you entirely, coming to press yourself against his back.
"are you trying to start something?" he asks, already knowing the answer. "we're going to be late."
"it's for a good cause," you've moved in front of him now, pulling him in by the collar of his uniform, taking the lead and savoring it for as long as you can.
"good thing i'm quite the philanthropist.")
