we do this thing where we take an object with us from hanging out with people or from larger events that we want to remember (usually we take a visually distinct rock- for example today it was a large egg shaped one) so that we can be certain that we DO remember it. its even better when we get a friend to pick this rock or other object, because then we see the rock and go Oh! its the rock from That Thing! and we usually remember some of the details from the thing because of that.
