If you spend time in fannish spaces other than tumblr or reading music criticism/published authorship, it's simply not true that Yoko and May are being erased from John's narrative - in many cases, mainstream opinions tend to shoehorn them into songs where they don't neatly fit. People here are naturally drawn to presenting alternative narratives, which typically center on McLennon. Kinda why we're all here lol.
well i mean. not to be rude here but i am quite obviously talking about tumblr. given the discussion we're all having is About tumblr. i am welllllll aware that outside of tumblr mclennon isn't mainstream at all. but saying the mclennon fandom has a bit of a misogyny issue isn't a stretch yk?
nowhere did i say may and yoko are being erased from his Mainstream Narrative. noooooo fucking shit yoko ono is, to the public, the Grand Love Of His Life. i would have to be possibly the most clueless person on earth to suggest otherwise.
of course alternative theories are my bread and butter like. again not to be rude but have you be Been on my blog? i am constantly red stringing about shit here. but it does in fact bother me as a fan of him to see people on here (bc again i think it's pretty obvious i'm talking about the mclennon fandom, which i am quite Obviously a part of) consistently not considering them at all
and of course like i said that's fine but. sorry. again. i don't mean to be a dick but considering the tone of this ask i do feel it's slightly warranted here but let me just screenshot the end of the post you're annoyed about:
"but it does lack a lot of depth and texture that makes the relationship interesting to me yk?" emphasis on to me
i think people are being unrealistic when they say their entire lives and loves revolved around the women they were in love with. i think, if you were to look at my blog, you could again quite obviously see that.
however, i think people are Also being unrealistic when they say their entire lives and love revolved solely around each other.
like maybe i'm being an asshole by suggesting we consider them as two bisexual men who were in love with each other While Also being in love with women but like. i mean. is that not the most realistic suggestion? and maybe people aren't looking for realism. but again................................. To Me, i just think it's a little reductive to narrow their focus down to only each other
