blitz stands up for moxxie in “ozzie's” but when fizz, oz and verosika start humiliating him in front of everyone (and press, the papers were probably savoring the incident for WEEKS) he doesn't do anything. he lets fizz call him a “total disgrace,” he lets verosika tell everyone about their shitty sex life, he lets oz say all that stuff about stolas.
and that's just not like him. he is the one who points out other people's flaws, he is the one who jokes inappropriately at any given moment, he is the one who talks back to guys who are two seconds away from killing him. he doesn't let anyone give him shit.
why didn't he stand up for himself then? maybe he doesn't like that one night stands with stolas don't mean anything but stolas is still his friend. and he's the only one who bullies his friends. why didn't he?
he did voice his displeasure with fizz being in the club, he did voice his disappointment with verosika being here. but the moment they started talking about him being the disgrace he deflated.
he let verosika push him, he let fizz manhandle him into sitting at the table with stolas. why?
because he hates himself.
he wears this mask of a man that's just so untouchable, nothing can phase him. but that's the thing. everything does. everything phases him.
he's extremely sympathetic, he hates that.
he knows just how badly he hurt fizz and verosika, he knows. and he despises himself for that. he despises himself for hurting them but he just cannot fathom how to fix that.
he shields himself, comes off as an asshole (because he is), hurts everyone he cares about even more, and doesn't know how to fix that.
so he lets them be mean. he lets them push him to the ground, lets them humiliate him, lets them tell all of hell how bad he is.
because he believes in it. he believes that he's an unlovable asshole that only knows how to hurt the people he cares about.
