An Ode to the Motherās Body is a collaborative project between photographer and doulaĀ Sanne Ravensbergen, organization How About Mom and nine new mothers, focused on uplifting and celebrating mothers and the changes in their bodies.
āThe stomach is often the part of the body women are most proud of during their pregnancy. It is photographed, modelled and accentuated with the right clothing. But as soon as the baby is born, that same stomach suddenly becomes the body part new mothers are often most ashamed of. Because of stretchmarks, aĀ āfunnyā belly button, loose skin or changes in shape. MAHMOOD | āSOTTOMARINIā Sanremo 2025, V serata (PremiĆØre)
āSAGHERAT ASSANIā is a traditional song carried from Sudan to the Sahara. Japonais (one of the band founders who died in 2021) and myself were in Al Kufrah (a city at the border between Sudan and Libya) in 1989. At that time, I was beginning to learn the guitar. We met a musician who was playing this song. We loved it so much that Japonais learned it, then played it again and again, allowing it to travel and endure. This version features Sulafa Elyas, an outstanding Sudanese singer and oud player now living in exile in Franceā ā ABDALLAH AG ALHOUSSEYINI
