St. Jude’s Primary School, 1969
A quiet tip-tap could be heard as Lily marched down the hall, her lunch tray in her hands. The hall was empty, everyone else was in the cafeteria, but even if there had been someone it was unlikely they would stop her. She walked with an air of authority that out-sized her small frame, a determined expression on her face. She stopped in front of a classroom door and after glancing over her shoulder to see if she had been spotted, slipped through the door.
Lily’s face, previously written with grim determination, slipped into a smile. “I was looking for you.”
