âUgh why is he blond why is he a twinkâ okay honestly thatâs just scratching the surface of why this character design and characterization are so bizarre because like. I guess heâs here because of a bit of Catholic lore saying that he guards the pearly gates, but beyond that, likeâŚthis guy is one of Jesusâs disciples. âOh ye of little faithâ was said to him by Jesus when he failed to walk on water with Jesus because he didnât believe strongly enough that he could. He is âPeteâ when you say âfor Peteâs sake.â He was crucified upside down as an old man next to Jesus because he didnât believe that he deserved to be crucified in the same manner as Jesus.
And like, make no mistake, I am not even remotely religiousâI just grew up knowing about this. So itâs very dissonant to know that and see thinks weird little dingus go âOOOOOHHH GET DUNKED ONâ when I know who heâs supposed to be. Also whereâs his nose. Whereâs his NOSE.
