π I basically wrote this already for Gwayne two years ago but now when we have Ormund I can't stop thinking of Rhaenyra's sister!Reader/OC being sent to Oldtown to marry Ormund because of Otto's scheming to join the houses with one more union.
π Only she lives in Rhaenyra's shadow and Otto can see that. He sees what she is trying to desperately hide: ambition, hunger for power, envy... Perhaps a bit of Targaryen madness. And he knows all of those can be used in the favour of the Hightowers.
π On the night before her departure from King's Landing she finally claims a dragon because she wants to have protection. And she arrives at Oldtown a few weeks before her planned arrival on her dragon back (her servants are traveling by carriages).
π Ormund is annoyed at first and he thinks the dragon stinks. But despite his strong prejudices he slowly starts to like her as a person because they kinda match each other's freak even though they will forever argue about some things (bonding with dragons for example).
π They both raise Daeron alongside their own children and she teaches the boy about Targaryens and Old Valyria as well.
π Despite Ormund disliking dragons, he treats her beast as a weapon, or rather protection. His Lady Wife has her own coat of arms β a Hightower beacon with a dragon sitting on top of it. The very same image is on the chest of her armour.
π When the war happens, she joins her husband and half-brother in the battlefield against her sister because the Hightowers are her family now and she is a Lady of Oldtown. After all the years by their side she is brainwashed enough but she also genuinely prefers the side of the family that gave her power and respect. And she's against children out of bedlock to sit on the throne of her ancestors.
π Aaaaand (even though he is sexist) I can imagine Ormund wanting her to sit on the throne amidst the chaos instead of Daeron because he's still young while she's a legitimate heir and being a husband of the Queen gives him more power than being an uncle of a King.
π (Just a random thought but whenever she's after a ride on her dragon's back, Ormund has to cover his nose with a handkerchief because she stinks in his opinion but she loves to annoy him like that. Most of the time she smells heavenly, though, because the servants spend hours rubbing aromatic oils into her skin as her Lord Husband wishes.)
