attack for @mystical-salamander!
See the idea that I'm autistic has me now connecting my own experiences to those experiences described by autistic people that I kinda went "hmmm I can see where they're coming from but it's not an experience that I have, because I'm not autistic". And now I'm comparing those experiences to my experiences and they're not identical, but now that the connection has been pointed out I can understand those feelings better
that moment when you’ve been writing for so long that your finger is stuck on your palm.
fun times with judy and francias
fun fact of the day: the number of people who speak french has tripled in the past 50 years.

okay i've held off on making a bio for pinky because they are difficult to write a bio for but i figure i should do pinky before doing any of the minor/yet-to-be-introduced-in-canon characters SO here we go.
pinky is a giant squid with the intelligence of a human. they can't write or speak, but they understand english and have been capable of communicating with agatha for years now. their tentacles are extendable and they have a multitude of eyes for some unknown reason. agatha chalks their 'mutations' up to the toxic waste that was dumped into some parts of the ocean during the war, just as most people tend to assume.
they're pretty damn sassy and often like to tease and poke fun at agatha. they take good care of her while they travel together out at sea, and agatha tries her best to take care of them, too, since they often get injured by people from belwood and elsewhere. still, they are usually the one who has to bail agatha out of a bad situation.
fun facts:
pinky was named by an eight year old agatha due to their color
they're gender neutral because agatha tried to ask them if they were a 'girl or boy squid' and they simply chose not to answer, so agatha decided to leave it at 'they.' later on in the story, the pronoun is corrected to 've,' which is a pronoun used to address all intelligent creatures of other species.
pinky typically pops their tentacles once for yes, twice for no.
alrighty i owe this blog 3 days' worth of daily posts sooooo let's start with an excerpt
this scene in particular was originally meant to be a short story about a girl and her squid friend and how she eventually had to leave and become a doctor/veterinarian. i chose for her to be a girl because i was inspired by httyd but wanted a lady version, and i set it during nuclear winter to also contrast with the springy green setting of httyd.
eventually while i was brainstorming ideas for what to write for nanowrimo, i came up with an expanded version of the unfinished short and rolled with it.
sooo yes here it is:
