not a puppy | past
He wasn’t allowed at the hospital that week. Gran said he could catch something, whatever that meant, but it was fine because that meant he got to stay at the Burrow with his grandparents for a few days while his parents were away. All was well that week, until his parents appeared at the Burrow to take him home - with something that wasn’t a puppy in his mother’s arms.
Teddy glared in their direction, staying nestled against Molly’s side. He gave it a solid three seconds before letting out a ear-piercing scream, tears rolling down his cheeks. While Molly and Arthur looked startled, Harry looked as if he’d been expecting it. With a shake of his head, Harry collected his son from Molly and apparated them back home. “No,” Teddy pulled himself from his father’s arms, despite Harry trying to grab him to keep him from leaving the living room. He ran down the hall at full speed when he heard the tell-tale pop of Ginny following them. “Mummy!” He paid absolutely no mind to the baby in her arms and pulled the side of her shirt, furiously. “Daddy said you were bringing me home a puppy, and that...” He jabbed a finger in his new baby brother’s direction. “That is not a puppy.” Teddy looked up at his mother, determined, and totally serious. “Take it back. Exchange it. I don’t want it. I didn’t ask for this. I want my puppy.”
