which is the correct format for Japanese
But living in America, you're supposed to write your name given name then surname rather than the other way around so when he writes his name in Romaji he automatically comes out with Himori Aki
so in that aspect, yes, Kouhei was correct in calling him Aki. The only problem was lack of honorifics.
