fuck it. *Hello, Planet.!Miku and Shadow the Hedgehog have extremely similar backstories, in this essay I will-

Both were artificially created by a scientist, who then died and left the fate of the world in his creation’s hands. They were both frozen in a stasis pod for many years, then awaken and dedicate their lives to fulfilling their purpose, eventually giving their lives to save the world, only to be revived soon after. Both were created on a space station orbiting earth and both of their stories have memories as a main focus point. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Fourth song chronologically in the Doomsday series. *Hello, Planet tells the story of a robot (Miku) waking up after the war is over and supposedly all the people are gone. Her mission is to care for the potted plant until it sprouts, but she gets lonely so she goes out in search of her Master.

It sounds so cute, but when you think about the circumstances it's actually pretty sad. The showing of vegetation covering the earth again at the end reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki talking about how he'd like to see more of the land return to the wild.
