Odd. *Anyway, uh, I don’t remember much about her, but I could always read my three year old fanfic....... H.

ERIN CAMPBELL

AGE: Twenty-seven. BIRTHDAY: March 20th. HOMETOWN: Hearthome City, Sinnoh. OCCUPATION: Officer. STARTER: Riolu, male, Modest. FACECLAIM: Candice Patton. STATUS: Open.  

BEGINNINGS IN HEARTHOME CITY…

Since she was a little girl, it’s always been Erin Campbell’s dream to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a police officer. She regarded him as a hero, watching him get ready for work each morning in awe and helping him polish his badge. She could often be found walking around her neighborhood in his old hats, accusing the other children of being robbers and chasing them down to put them in “jail” - also known as the old potting shed in her backyard. A lot of the neighborhood kids got pretty sick of playing cops and robbers with her. As she got older, Erin’s ambition just became stronger and she began taking classes in jujitsu and karate in order to prepare herself for a lifetime of fighting criminals. She graduated high school with top marks and was offered full scholarships to many of Sinnoh’s colleges. She decided to attend Veilstone University, which had the most prestigious Criminal Justice system in the country. Erin also had an ulterior motive, she approached Veilstone’s Gym Leader, Maylene, not long after settling in the city and asked to train with her. Maylene happily took her up on the offer, realizing the bright girl would make an excellent Fighting-type trainer and supplied her with a Riolu - the descendant of the leader’s own prized Lucario. As time went on and Erin got closer to graduation, Maylene realized the potential in the girl and offered her a full-time spot training with them, but Erin turned her down. While she was happy enough to earn some money and battle experience during college, she couldn’t wait to return home to Hearthome and start her police career there. Maylene understood, gifting her the Riolu she’d trained with all along when it was time for her to return home.

Due to a lack of crime, Hearthome City only opened seven officer positions the year that Erin graduated. She was nervous that she might not get a spot, seeing as she had no formal experience yet and she wasn’t sure how she’d done on her civil service exam. When her results came in, the Hearthome Police Department ranked Erin second in general merit and offered a job. After passing various background checks, personality evaluations, and fitness tests to ensure she was capable of handling the job, Erin started training at the Police Academy a few months later. She was quick on her feet during drills and passed the written tests with no difficulty, earning a reputation as an obnoxious overachiever with the other cadets. Erin ignored them, focusing on learning as much as she could before graduation. After she was finished, she joined the department as the youngest officer in Hearthome City. Despite her age, she was generally well-liked by her coworkers who quickly came to realize just how dependable and hardworking she was. 

The only problem was that Erin was bored to tears. Because crime was so low, there was little for junior officers like herself to do besides acting as a meter maid in city center or pulling soccer moms over for breaking the city’s hands free phone laws. All of Erin’s fighting skills were going to waste and she found herself spending extra time in the gym to work out all her pent-up energy, Riolu joined her as he was also bored with the general lack of Pokemon battles. A few years into her job, a series of skirmishes with petty criminals in Kanto had caused an upset to the Officer Jennys there. They were having trouble with a group that called themselves Team Rocket, who were stealing Pokemon and causing other trouble in Kanto. Due to Hearthome City’s peaceful nature - Erin had only left the office this week to rescue a Meowth from a tree and was being buried in paperwork - they were being asked if they could spare any officers to help with the extra trouble for a few months. Erin immediately jumped at the opportunity, hoping to finally get in on some of the action of being a cop. Her boss agreed to recommend her for the program, hoping she’d become more placid with the city’s lax crime after seeing how difficult fighting real crime could be. Erin excitedly packed her bags and headed for Pallet Town, ready to learn from Kanto’s police program and ecstatic to oversee Professor Oak’s welcome service for his Pokedex Challenge.
