There's a Despicable Me meme on this site which sums this up perfectly but I really hate when the scene that you envisioned around the time you started the big WIP no longer fits the WIP when you get there :/
(It's my own fault for preferring the journey of writing the story versus detailed outlines and all the things they probably teach in the writing classes I never took but I do wind up disappointed when the scene has to be cut or edited to something no longer recognizable *sighs*)
