so we all can agree on that the Montgomery name is from Misako, right? Well, what if her family name was something else?

My lore for her backstory will always end with her disowning her family, the things that leads to it isn't important for this. So she disowns her family and removes the last name she had before. So now she doesn't have a last name, because that's what the Montgomery name is to me. A last name.

now for the next part of this hc; Andromeda and Astra were the ones to help her find and take the Montgomery name while they all went to Darkleys. Maybe she had Power and/or Light from the girls for a while, maybe not. But eventually they get to Montgomery.

OR

Misako uses Andromeda's or Astra's last names (when it's necessary to use last names), and it's her and Garmadon that decides on Montgomery while talking last names for the wedding. Because Garmadon doesn't have a last name (born before such things existed!), so he'd always been thinking they'll take Misako's. But Misako dropped her family last name decades ago, and has been using friend's. So they come up with Montgomery-Garmadon as last name together (which yes makes Garm's name Garmadon Montgomery-Garmadon, they think it's HILARIOUS which is why they went with it)
