He is the only son of the late Lord Borrell of Sweetsister and Sisterton in the Vale. His mother was the lord’s mistress, and she thought that giving the lord a son would force him to leave his wife but of course it didn’t so that’s why he’s a Stone. 

But his father did love his mother. And Rodrik grew up at Breakwater castle with her. But they were always talked about since the Lord willingly acknowledged him.

His father’s wife was hella crazy. She tried to kill Rodrik several times through out his life and she believed that the gods cursed her by having him born at all. Since she never produced any sons by his father. She also murdered his mother but no one wants to challenge that bc like I said hella crazy.

He has three half sisters that are his world. The eldest is now the ruling Lady of Breakwater. But his father’s wife before she passed on influenced the eldest to become paranoid of Rodrik. Saying he was gonna try and take her seat and stuff. So while she was always his big sister growing up, there’s now this awful tension between them and she’s convinced he wants her seat. While the middle one is only a few months apart from him, they often have acted like twins. Never going far from one another. She’s his best friend and honestly is starting to hate her older sister for what she’s doing to him. The youngest is hella naive and she kind of just does what she thinks is right. But she’s torn over what the eldest says and what Rodrik says. She often falls victim to their quarrels a lot (I’ll be sending in wc for these three if you’re ever interested bc I love family drama)

Due to the drama he’s had to deal with basically his whole life, Rodrik comes and goes a lot. Only really telling his one sister where he’s going. He’s worked on and off as a sell sword for years in various kingdoms. But something always brings him home to Sweetsister. 

Rodrik personality wise is probably the complete opposite of my character Torrhen lol. He doesn’t want his father’s seat, and could care less about power. He knows his place and doesn’t care if people think he’d be better at it than his sister. (She wasn’t really prepared well for it, but when he tries to help her she just gets mad.)  But he does have a chip on his shoulder because he’s a bastard and his been reminded of it his entire life. He lowkey hates his mother and thinks she was selfish to bring him into the world the way she did. He’s just very angsty about that, and will prob get emotional if you force him to talk about it. Generally he’s a pretty nice guy, but he’s well aware of the world he lives in. So if he needs to lie or be shady to get shit done for his sisters he will. 

He refuses to get married due to his position. He’s super against it, and his biggest fear is ever siring a child. He knows the life of a bastard, and doesn’t want that for anyone. 

Alright so that’s pretty much the basics, I have some connection ideas listed below if that’ll help you plot wise. Or if you have something else in mind I’d love to hear it. I can’t to interact with all of you on my lil sad son. 

SELLSWORD CONNECTION: Honestly several people could fill this. He’s done it since he was about 16, and he’s 25 to give you an idea. And he could be in a contract with your character now if you’d like. I think there’s so much you could do with this too as far as the relationship and why he may have stopped serving them or why he still is.

ANYONE ELSE IN THE VALE: I think I’m the only one right now, but if any of you have relatives in the Vale or pick up a Vale character, especially in the three sisters I’d love to talk to you about them knowing one another. 

CHILDHOOD FRIENDS: This could either be a highborn or lowborn person. Preferably someone who has ties to the Vale with their family. 

GENERAL FRIENDS: Rodrik is a pretty chill guy, I imagine he doesn’t have a  lot of friends because of his status, but he’d treat them well.
