When the attitude of the party started to shift, Elena had noticed but hardly paid any attention to it. They were drunkards who could not handle their alcohol. Honestly, it was quite embarrassing for them. Elena looked down her nose at those that got too drunk far too quickly. Was it that much of a lack of self control to pace yourself? She did partake in drinking herself, Elena did enjoy the finer things in life after all. Yet, she never lost herself. She had control over herself the entire time. Even if she did often use alcohol to loosen and seduce others, she stayed in control always. But as others started to be effected, and even then they seemed to be in a worse state. Convulsions, throwing up, paralysis and much more. Elena knew the effects of poison on a body when it became clear that this was not simply partying too hard. With perfectly manicured hands, she placed her own drink down ruefully. If someone had messed with her expensive bottle of champagne, she would not be happy at all. Pressing her tongue against her teeth, Elena started taking an evaluation of her body. Everything seemed in order. For now. She started making her way through the chaotic crowd. Those who weren’t down were freaking out over those who had dropped. The fresh air hit her face with a welcome sharpness. There were plants opposite the door and Elena gracefully made her way over, pressed her finger back in her throat and threw up. Only Elena Czarnik could make the action still seem fabulous. Wiping her mouth, she dug through her purse for makeup to fix her lips. It was only when she heard a moan behind her that she realized she was not alone. Her gaze swept until she saw him on his knees by the bushes behind her. “Lincoln.” Fishing out her lipstick and a mirror, she reapplied while stepping over him. “How are you feeling, darling?”Â
