Let's just talk about a brilliant autistic queer woman in the 19th century who is completely incapable of existing within the constraints of her time, and who leads a semi-bohemian, semi-hermitic life, avoiding marriage and "womanly duty" with all her might, and a talented nurse, a typical Englishwoman of her time, who would really like something more in her life, and who is brought together by circumstances as a roommate with this absolute weirdo who thinks she's a detective. There's a lot of room for interpretation here, to be honest, but I imagine it goes something like this (and this is me with the new fancast again):
