"Oh, fuck off. I want all of them on my zombie apocalypse team. We’d be unstoppable.” Dani, however, thinks for a moment. “Alright. I’d have Z on my team. I think that’s the best for my own survival, yeah? I’d ... fuck, I hate this one.” She frowns. The thought of either betraying or killing her friends is not a fun one, even if it’s all fun and games. “I’ll kill Rahim. He might thank me for it, and all. And sorry, Arch: I’ll betray you. But it will be temporary, like that time I stole something from you. We moved past that too, yeah?”

Diomedes hardly hesitates when he says, “Yes.” Eyes shift, nervously, but he keeps his cool. Best to say it with conviction if he’s going to say it at all. “My daughter and wife are my main priority, as are any of my potential future children. I believe that through the Death Eaters, I am protecting them and shaping a better world for Helen. Should this change, and should my position endanger their lives ... well, I support the cause dearly, but nothing goes above love and familial loyalty. Their safety comes first.”

He doesn't hestitate. Even without veritaserum, he knows the answer. “Yes.” A beat. “Feelings like that don’t just go away, y’know? They stick with ya. Especially when you’re me.” He grins guiltily, sadly. “I - yeah. I’d say I still love her, actually. Kinda pathetic, but yeah. Love kind of sucks.”

Her instincts tell her to say my family because that is what she is supposed to say. She doesn’t though. “My friends.” The answer surprises her, and her eyes grow wide, the truth so startling, so raw. She’s known it for quite some time, but hasn’t dared to say it. Hasn’t dared to think it, properly. “I - I love my family, I love myself, but they ...” Words die in her mouth, fear like a hand that squeezes her throat shut. She knows all too well where her loyalty ought to be, and it’s not with friends made through shenanigans and drunk nights. But they have given her more than her father ever has: he only gave her promises of glory, of happiness, of love. They gave her those things themselves, and more. “If I had to choose, it would be them.” And what would happen, should it come down to that, is something that terrifies her. 

“I will gladly marry Juliet again. I think sleeping with either of the two left would make things rather complicated; Cassius for me, as I’m well – not wired to like men. Zelda for me as well, but I am also not looking forward to facing either Juliet’s or Cassius’ anger after the fact.” He thinks, for a moment. “Ah, for the hell of it, I’ll sleep with Cassius. I doubt I will like it, but I think Juliet would forgive me easier? If not, I’d choose Zelda of course. In this case, though, I’ll cuddle with Zelda. I’m sure we’ll both thoroughly not enjoy it.” 

“Yes.” What kind, she doesn’t specify at first. It’s an easy enough answer, that still hides the truth without dismissing it. “We’ve been friends since ... I don’t know how long. How can I not have feelings for her? It’s called friendship, fucker.” Of course, it’s not just that. She knows, she knows, she knows, but she doesn’t want to. Fragility does not suit Dani. “But there’s more than that, yeah.” A pause. “She’s my other half, I think sometimes. A soulmate, or something cheesy like that.” Dani shakes her head. She hates the truth: she is a girl built of lies, a spider in a web of carefully spun falsehoods. She hates how it falls from her lips, surprising herself most of all. She spent so much of her time lying, that it’s terrifying, this. “I might love her.”
