Dear Old Friend
The shop had been dead all morning, so quiet that Alex had seriously considered closing up early more than once, and just telling Sirius to re-open when he came in for his shift that night. But it wasn’t as if he really had anything to do at home, so he kept the door unlocked and simply sat behind the counter futzing around with some of the charms on his recipe book, adding the newest cocktail he’d made for Pandora, the sweet reporter who was writing a story on him.
He felt a shiver and heard the dim, tinny sound of his bell as someone tripped his wards and entered the shop, and when he glanced up he couldn’t help a grin. Zephyr Bell hadn’t changed at all, and yet it was impossible that he hadn’t. It had been almost a decade since Alex had been around his younger housemate with accidental magic issues and a dislike for authority, and of all the places he could have expected their paths to cross, Britain wasn’t one of them. But here they were, and Alex was glad to see him looking well. If a bit like he was on a warpath. Which. Was sure to be explained.
“Long time no see,”he signed and spoke. “I was wondering when you’d drop by. What can I do for you?”
