Sharing 7 comfort tv shows. I’ve always loved sitcoms over dramas, but if I’m going to have the tv on in the background it’s usually been HGTV.

5. Parks & Rec: I know you all get it. I’ll add that my professional work is in urban policy and planning so a show lauding public service and sending up librarians v. the parks dept., I’m here for it. Also, this scene made my kids crack up because Ron:

4. Shameless: my newest TV obsession but it’s not exactly comforting as I continue to watch it pretty intentionally and selectively. But if I have the tv on by choice these days, it’s for Shameless.
3-2-1. Law & Order: no contest. Honestly before Shameless came into my life, this was pretty much it for me in terms of comforting tv content. I’ve been such a fan of this show that I’m basically known for it in my social networks. Oh, someone has a L&O reference? Better tag Gingi!! 😆 The formulaic nature, the NYC setting, the near ubiquitous presence on tv at all times of day, I just LOVE it. Oh and important: L&O the original. None of that SVU nonsense.
