The job, truthfully, had just sort of fallen into his lap by providence.
There were no orcs in Albion. He had known that before he stepped foot into the country. He was used to stares, to dirty looks, to people cowering away from him. So, he had expected that and more when he arrived. It didn't deter him from looking for work.
Bowerstone Castle was in need of guards. While he'd never worked at a castle, his time as a warrior and mercenary seemed suitable enough experience. He was directed there by a kindly old grandmother.
The hiring process was...well. A bit fast. The King himself met with him - a young man, with a seemingly good head on his shoulders, and he was quick to invite Rhythorn to join them. Perhaps he could sense that, really, the orc had nowhere else to go.
Other than returning home to Brigmar. He wasn't keen on doing that just yet.
At least he didn't have to wear a suit of armor. He was allowed to wear his own leather armor and clothing, since they wouldn't have anything in his size, anyways.
It was his first official day. He was going to be given a tour of Bowerstone and the grounds by someone named Sir Walter. He was content to wait where he was told until the other man arrived.
