“Could I have your attention please? Right, now, today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets. Like so. One, two, three. Vera Verto.”

About: Vera Verto is the incantation of a spell used to transform an animal into a water goblet. 

This spell is moderately difficult to perform, and disastrous if done wrong. Wand movement and posture are both very important for this charm.

To perform the spell, one must tap the targeted animal three times sharply with their wand, and then point their wand directly at the animal, incanting, “Vera Verto”.

Once performed, a jet of nearly indiscernible, crystal-clear mist, almost like a spray, will shoot from the caster’s wand, engulfing the animal and quickly morphing it into a goblet.

YOUR TASK IS AS FOLLOWS:

You must write a solo of your character practicing the Vera Verto spell on any of the animals that Professor Baek has provided. She has several rats, a handful of small birds, a few toads, and a lizard on which you can practice on.

Even if your character does not perform the spell correctly, no harm is done to the animal! Professor Baek will make sure they are restored to their proper state.

Feel free to use Professor Baek in your solo!

Topic:  Wit-Sharpening Potion

About: The Wit-Sharpening Potion is a tricky little concoction that will allow a drinker’s senses to be heightened. As such, it acts as a counter-agent to a Confundus Charm.

Ingredients: Scarab beetles, ginger root, armadillo bile

Instructions:

Use knife to cut off two pieces of ginger root, 3 inches in length and slice horizontally down the middle, and add to cauldron. Potion should turn to green.

Add armadillo bile until potion turns blue.

Grind scarab beetles in mortar, sprinkle in cauldron until potion turns red.

Add more armadillo bile until potion turns yellow.

Chop four more pieces of ginger root, again 3 inches in length, and add to cauldron. Potion should turn green.

Stir clockwise until potion turns yellow.

Allow the potion to simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.

Add more armadillo bile until the potion turns dark orange.

YOUR TASK IS AS FOLLOWS:

Write a solo of your character creating this potion in their potions class. You can write about gathering the ingredients from the store cupboard, your character following the instructions. Feel free to use Professor So Jisub in your solo as well. 

Remember, not everyone will create the potion perfectly! Be realistic based on your characters potion level.

Solos should be at least 250 words.
