Happy 20th Anniversary (miss)understood!

Ayu's seventh full-length, original album was released January 1st, 2006. It debuted at the top of the Oricon chart after a lead up of four double-a-side singles, including "STEP you," "HEAVEN," and "Bold & Delicious." The album was released in both a CD-only and CD+DVD format, with the two versions each coming with a different photobook.

In a departure from other albums in her discography, many of the original tracks, including both tracks on the final single, Bold & Delicious/Pride, were composed by Geo from Sweetbox. with updated production and new Japanese lyrics by Ayu to better fit her sound. Many of the original versions can be found on Sweetbox's Addicted.

Happy 15th Anniversary, (miss)understood!

January 1st marks the release date for several landmark albums in Ayu’s career, but 2021 is the 15th anniversary for her sixth, full-length original album, (miss)understood. The album arrived in both a CD and CD+DVD package, each with a different photobook titled “On My Way” and “Off My Day.” It features several classic singles like “STEP you” and “HEAVEN,” and is perhaps most defined by the collaborations with pop production project Sweetbox; “Bold & Delicious”, “Pride,” “Ladies Night,” “In the Corner,” “Beautiful Day,” and “rainy day” were all Sweetbox compositions.
