I don't know if this is a hot take or not, but I don't think the point of the prequels is that it wasn't Anakin's fault. Yes, he was a product of his environment, yes, the Jedi failed him, and yes, he was manipulated by the Sith; HOWEVER!!! If you place all of the blame for Anakin's fall on other people, you're also robbing him of his agency. The point of his story (to me) is that no matter how far you've fallen, no matter how much pain you've caused, you always have the power and the choice to do good. If you argue that Anakin was pushed inexorably to the dark side by the Jedi, or the Sith, or his upbringing, or his psychology, you're missing that point.
Anakin had a choice!! He had a choice the entire time!! That's the point!!! In his first interaction with Padmé he demanded that she recognize his personhood and autonomy despite him being enslaved, and in the end, even though he's been under Palpatine's total control for 20 years, he could still choose to kill him to save his son. And he could have done that the whole time! Isn't that wonderful??
The only thing that could have saved Anakin, and the only thing that did, was Anakin choosing to do good. I don't think we're meant to view him as purely a victim of his circumstances who had no option but to do what he did. Anakin was a bad person who did horrible things, and everyone in his life was trying to control him, but he had humanity, and goodness, and free will that nobody could ever truly take away. AND SO DO YOU! Word UP!!!
