β I was your age once. I thought I was invincible tooβ Theo for Violet @multipleoccupancy

Violet looked down at her tea cup, her cheeks flushed red. It wasn't the first time that her dad lectured her about her recklessness, and she doubted it would be the last. Did she think she was invincible? Violet wasn't sure. She knew better than most just how fragile humans were, when faced with bigger, deadlier threats. Like monsters. But she certainly had a tendency to run towards danger, anyway.
"I'm sorry, Dad. It's not that I want to put myself in danger, but..."
She didn't finish her sentence. It was certainly a complicated and unusual situation. Violent didn't always ask for trouble -it had a tendency to find her. But she had also done things all on her own (like going after Sloane to rescue her dad, to name only one of her many reckless ideas).
"I guess maybe I do think I'm invincible," she conceded finally. "But I also know I'm not!" Violet was still too young to admit what was perhaps obvious to her dad: that being a teenager gave her the impression that she'd always manage to survive, somehow. "It's hard to act just like everyone else when I've seen and done things that no one my age has done."
