⛱ my opinions on anon hate
Uh, anon hate bad?
Do people still get anon hate these days or is sending mean message out of fad now? I don't think I have any recent memories of someone complaining about getting weird or hateful anon messages. Then again I deliberately avoid RPC drama like it's the plague so I'm not attuned to the local gossip, as it is.
Anyway. I've only got 'anon hate' once in my entire tenure on Tumblr. I can barely remember the premise frankly, it was just someone being snide. Either way, I deleted it and moved on with my life. Shows how much it effected me: i don't even remember the premise of it. I'll hardly dictate to someone else how they should handle 'anon hate' (however prevalent that is or isn't in the RPC these days), but I do think the best way to deal with it is exactly that: delete it and move on. Don't give someone that pathetic and worthless the time of day, or even the pleasure of a response.
🏛 my opinions on softblocking
It's fine? I use it on occasion when I want to quietly drop a 'partner.' I put 'partner' in quotes because 95% of the time it's someone that either: A. I've never interacted with on dash; B. Proven they will never interact with me. Because I try to be pretty proactive with making contact with everyone I'm mutual with it's usually B. I've sent memes, liked starter calls, messaged them, replied to posts, etc., and I've just gotten nothing out of them. (This is especially true if they're replying, writing, and talking to other people). Okay, I get it, we all have different bandwidth, and I'll soft block just to clean-up my dash. There are also cases where I'll go through my following list to take out: inactive blogs (usually about 2-3 months is the cut-off) or blogs I haven't written with in a long while/ moved onto other fandoms I'm not in/ whatever.
I like a very functional dash, I want my active partners on dash, and not have to scroll through a bunch of other crap to get to them. In fact, as a general note: If I absolutely do not want to write with someone I will block them. Usually if I soft-black it's one of the above cases and if you follow again, I'll probably follow back too. I've actually had that happen with a few partners over the years. Most of the time I don't even remember why I soft-blocked or unfollowed in the first place, and assume it's just one of my usual purges.
🖨 my opinions on callouts
This one is actually in my rules:
I do not, will never, and have zero interest, in ever participating in a call-out, on any level, for any reason. Period. End of story.
I haven't seen a legit call-out in a long time ago but I'll just say this: Usually my response is to block both parties and be done with it. If someone were to give me bullshit about a call-out, I'd block them too. Tumblr RP is too silly and non-important in my life to deal with useless drama. I also think that we're responsible for curating our own space as well. If you have an issue with someone, block them and move on.
📒 three blogs i couldn't live without
Oh, boy this is a tough one. I'll highlight three partners I really appreciate right now:
@snkts for literally being half of my drafts and also being a really good friend that I've known for years. I love writing with them and I love talking with them. Someone go ask them for Logan's entire backstory for me. Thx.
@raregcms (+ associated blogs), Manda's been such a gem to write, plot, and talk with; easy to get along with and also has a lot of fun lore knowledge of comics that goes deep. It's just nice to have someone who really gives a shit about what they're writing.
@onlyarogue (+ associated blogs), Noon my beloved. It's just been fun getting to know her Rogue, and other characters, and I'm really excited to finally find someone to write Reylo with so >:3
if he isn't showing the bobbies then WHAT'S THE POINT!!!
