"What’s in that bag and why are you hiding it here?"
((OH GOG DANGIT OF ALL THE LINES…y’know what? Y’know what, imma roll with it. Watch me roll with it. I will bloody roll with it. Roll with it. I will.))
Leona hadn’t seen Derrick out in the woods in ages, naturally, because the two of them hadn’t seen each other in several months, mostly for Derrick’s safety. Getting caught bringing a human deep into the woods had been bad for her, and even worse for him: the bigger giants had promised that if they saw him out deep in the woods again, he’d be crushed, and his remains would be handed to Leona. Harsh, but not unexpected considering how little they liked humans.
Thankfully, though, Derrick was on the outskirts of the forest, just out of the sight of most hikers/souls brave enough to enter this feared stretch of land, but not far enough in for the giants to find him…and he was digging a hole…in the ground…and putting a bag in it. Huh. She had approached him after she saw him moving up one of the hiking trails. She had been down this close to civilization mostly because she was looking for a change of scenery, and the smaller, less dense foliage out here allowed her a breathtaking view of the sky and the roads that cut through the countryside…plus it offered the chance to meet up with humans/help motorists who often broke down out on the roads when they underestimated just how long it would take to reach the next town on the winding forest roads. She had made Derrick jump when she had just randomly yelled out to him, asking for an explanation as to what he was burying hoping that she hadn’t scared him too as she approached…hoping for a second that the bag didn’t contain anything illegal…or any kind of evidence of a crime. Oh jeez…the thought of Derrick trying anything that crazy almost made her inwardly chuckle. Almost.Â
"Please tell me that’s not drugs or a body, Derrick. We’re in enough trouble as it is."
