i’ve had a surprising amount of trouble pinning down a voice for her, actually. the closest thing is angelina jolie’s voice in girl interrupted, in terms of intonation? her voice is more smooth opposed to gravelly when it gets lower and there’s a much broader range of pitch– her voice can get pretty high and pretty low in one sentence, when she’s particularly animated. her tone changes a lot with her mood, when she’s feeling “dead” it’s much more monotone and similar to angie’s. her voice has a certain round bell-ring to it that’s hard for me to come across. her singing voice exemplifies these qualities much better: it is (was, it’s a little rusty due to a lack of exercise) a lot prettier than her speaking voice, and it’s actually that of her fc. (here, here, here.) sofie was trained vocally when she was younger, but she didn’t carry through with it despite the fact that she continued to sing. her general tone was developed, but her hush and sometimes lilting pronunciation among other things that stormi shares is her own.

i’d say for a tl;dr, combine angie’s intonation with stormi’s sound and you have a match. if it leans one way, it would definitely be closest to stormi’s.

☂ - sadness

sof/hara is a really reactionary person, so her more minute sadness greatly varies on the case. however, she experiences a few main types of sadness regularly.

the first manifests itself as (as an embodiment of it, i’m sure you can guess) anger and frustration. it’s easier to exemplify than to describe, but i’ll try my best. this is generally from things that bother her on a grander scale than just a sad cat video, usually things that seem irrelevant but relate in her head to strongly negative experiences she has had. she gets particularly agitated and will generally get into a mood she calls “burning.” these are the times when she acts impulsively, bitingly, harmful towards herself, etc.

the second usually comes after burning, of which i can provide a recent example. it’s a curious fixation on it that can sometimes numb her and sometimes send her back to burning, depending on what she hears about it. it’s all rather cyclical. the aforementioned example is below, in response to recent pressing considerations of her own immortality and how she could outlive the people she’s fond of.

S: I MISS YOU BITCH! i’m burning tonight and what are you to me if you aren’t the first to hear about it. [clipped] there’s something i have to ask you. [clipped] what do you think about immortality? your own?

G: I think it can be tedious yet effective.

S: pardon? lolol. i watched a jane austen movie and now i feel very proper. i don’t mean like. your opinion on it. don’t you ever think about what it means? for you? like? the future? eternity is a long time if you’re right about your powers. haven’t you thought about that? i didn’t really expect you to have anything like that because you dooo kind of sometimes tend to have. shallower answers. but! doesn’t it scare you?

G: No. I don’t believe I’ll live past 30. There’s many flaws in my immortality.

I’m not scared of anything.

S: hm.
