He stopped, frozen in place upon noticing the other stood in the room. He had not meant to wander in on anyone - had merely assumed with the door not latched that the room had been empty. It appeared, however, that that was not the case as his eyes landed upon the far taller man, beige scales decorating his skin in delicate patches. Stephanivien had never seen such a thing before, never met an au ra - that was what they were called, correct? In silence he couldn’t help but stare, eyes running along the shapes of each patch of scales along the stranger’s back, flicking up to peer at horns accentuating his face. He felt his face heating already, a hand lifting to rest over his mouth and nose - eyes still peering widened through gaps in fingers.
At the voice, he jumped and uttered a short yelp. His body turned though not entirely away, painted eyes squeezing shut and brows gently furrowing.
“A-apologies! I-I didn’t know th-there was anyone in h-here!” he cried out, his voice raised slightly above his usual volume in his shock. He bit his lip, his ears lowering slightly. “I-I can - I-I should go, yes? I think - “ He snapped his mouth shut, hunching his shoulders. He really should have knocked.
