the flower blooms.
it’s been-- what, two months? seunghee can’t exactly remember but she knows her grandmother’s smile is still the first thing she sees every day and for that she is more than thankful. she also knows that friends are hard to come by and even harder to stay but she couldn’t blame them-- she had been gone for so long; physically, mentally, seunghee was not present, rather she occupied her time with college, hoping to pass all the classes and still keep her scholarship. the pressure was unbelievable. she couldn’t allow her grandmother to strain herself to pay for her education. she had to do great in the last exams of the semester.
seunghee even strained herself to paint and draw. it was a hard task when she was obliged to do so and didn’t just do it out of inspiration. still, she battled through the toughest times to get to now.
she smiled again. after all those days spent with her head stuck in books and mind struggling to find a dust of inspiration left in her brain, she finally smiled when she woke up to her grandmother’s kind smile and the smell of freshly made toast and new herbs in the garden. she finally smiled when she walked out the door to a beautiful sunny summer day and made her way to the flower shop for her early shift.
she wasn’t even sure what awaited her that summer, but she knew for sure there was a space open for numerous new adventures.
she wondered; could this summer be the one she’d find a love? perhaps new friends who’d stay by her side?
could this summer be the one?Â
