    Kaigaku's temper instantly pings the moment he hears the disrespect in Pig Boy's voice. He'd been wondering about what kind of guys would willingly hang out with Zenitsu of all people...and now he has an answer to one of them. Some feral mountain child raised by boars. Of course the brat would become friends with a weirdo.

    "Listen here, you little..." He starts, a snarl in his voice and eventually trailing off into a wordless groan. No no no, he can't go off on a junior like that. He's not fucking Shinazugawa. Meditation and breathing exercises help. Proper medicine for his pain helps. He can be a mature and rational adult worthy of the title of Hashira.

    But fucking GOD if the instinct to strangle this kid isn't strong.

    It's infuriating is what it is. Him, needing help. Especially now! With all of this new strength, with power practically bleeding from his fingertips. No longer burdened by the pain in his leg, Kaigaku can move like lightning itself now. Can run and fight and slaughter as he pleases! He shouldn't need fucking HELP!

    But old human habits die hard, apparently. Against a slayer, he moved as he would have when his leg was still half lame. It cost him; felled by the slayer's sword taking aforementioned leg out at the kneecap and leaving him to kiss the dirt. It should have been his end—head removed before he could do anything worthwhile.

    Though by the sheer fact that the head of the slayer is now staring sightlessly into his own eyes while his leg regrows, it seems that the demon who gave him this chance still sees something worthy in him. Even if he stumbled, even if he almost died in a humiliating fashion. Kaigaku is still here.

    The humiliation seethes through his veins like fire.

    He hauls himself up and spitefully kicks the head away like a ball, sneering after it. Childish...was he ever this petty before? Who knows. Maybe he's just indulging in his bad habits more now. Remembering himself, Kaigaku turns to the much older demon and bows. He wouldn't dare to be disrespectful to the one who has decided to teach him.

    Much as he didn’t like it, Kaigaku was forced to watch Zenitsu’s back during the fight. He’s older, more experienced, the senior---a Hashira. The blond is just wailing and flailing and barely trying to swing his sword around.

    Rumor has it that if he gets knocked out, he can actually fight. WHICH WOULD BE AWESOME RIGHT NOW!

    The demon keeps firing off some sort of energy beam and though it doesn’t seem to have any affect when it hits the ground or a tree, he’s not exactly keen to find out what’ll happen if it hits him or the brat.

“Get your fucking head in the game, Zenitsu!” Kaigaku roars, not daring to take his eyes off the demon. But fuck him in the ass if the younger boy still won’t take this seriously---and then there’s no time to talk, or think. Only act.

    And throw himself in front of Zenitsu to take the energy beam head on instead. There’s a flash of light and he’s just...not there anymore. Or so it seems at first.

    There’s a pressure against the slayer’s legs, arms wrapped tight around them and a child (7 at the most, dirty and skinny and wild) looking at the demon with a mix of terror and rage. It’s a monster!
