The Ethereal Ball is still months away but that won’t stop students and staff looking forward to it early. There’s one big hiccup at present, however: the Goddess Tower, where hopes and dreams of confessions and romance go to burn bright or crash and peter out, is reportedly being haunted by a nasty ghost. What’s worse, the specter seems to particularly have it out for those touched by love’s embrace. Not to mention, no one is technically allowed inside… Patrol the grounds or bust in, and save the Ball from certain doom.

Ingrid does not believe in ghosts, at least not in the way this rumored goddess tower spectre is portrayed. The dead never really leave, she knows that but neither has she seen any evidence they rattle around in chains causing trouble to young lovers. Despite her own love of stories Ingrid thinks it all a little ridiculous, but clearly the church is worried enough about how the rumors might look especially so near the Milenium Festival that someone needed to take a look.
Ingrid is just surprised by who it is she’s paired up with to do so, though having never met Nótt before she was bound to have ended up surprised in some way about the woman. She looks as if she’s coming out some of Ingrid’s favroite legends herself – though Ingrid would never tell her such a thing, afraid to offend. All Ingrid knows is that she is a foreign student from the Black Eagles house who had volunteered for this patrol all her own.
They were alike in that. Though it was less out of interest on Ingrid’s part that she had volunteered and more her own restless legs and the assurance that the ghost would have no need to come after her.
“Would you like to begin by getting a feeling for the courtyard before going up to the tower? I know we have special permssion to go inside during patrol hours but if there really is something amiss here I should like to get the lay of the land first.”
