Darius Chosaint, lead homicide detective at the Cohlal Police department. How many times had he written that down today.. at least thirty. Filling out paperwork was easily the most pain in the ass part of this job... but at this point it was worth it to keep himself out of the house and away from all the sudden fluffy couple shit that's going on in there. Adonai and Jophial... Even Reaver found love.. and it was making the Dhampire sick. 

Maybe it was because it was so close to the mating heat.. He always got itchy and twitchy around then. Even if the whole thing went down in the colony up state. but Kael seemed fine.. Abruptly Darius stood and tugged on his leather coat. Nope.. He needed to take a ride. The paperwork could wait till morning. He grabbed his helmet from his locker and headed down to parking where he left his bike. 

He was nearly on when something set him off, in less than a breath he had guns drawn and aimed at a someone coming out from behind a parked car. "Is it right to aim guns at your alpha boy?" A male about six foot came out of the shadows, he was shirtless, and covered in intricate celtic knot tattoos. His eyes sparkled the same blue as Darius', but they held more of a menace and power. Trailing down from his head was a braid of chestnut hair that reached nearly his lower back. Over all the male looked like an ass hole and had the muscle to back it up. Not the kind of male you want to fuck around with.

>Darius growled angrily, putting his guns away. "You're not my Alpha Luchas.. you're my brother. And I'm no longer part of your pack remember?" With a quick start, the engine on his bike roared to life, but the tall male in front of him growled, bracing a hand on the front, as though to halt his leaving.

"Father's dead, I'm the alpha now.. I don't care what he said, you and Kael are to come home for the mating heat this moon. Our numbers are dwindling and we need more males to partcipate."

"Like hell I'm going back there. I help with your Warg council shit and that's as far as I go. Fuck off Luchas." Suddenly there was a pain in Darius' jaw and he was on the ground, his bike on top of his leg. 

Luchas stood over Darius with a smug look in his eye. "Do not talk to your Alpha that way Darius. You will be at the colony during the next moon, or I will hunt you and Kael down, and neuter the both of you." With those final words he walked away. 

A young Dhampire prince, with chestnut hair, sat by the fire with his best friend and his brother. With no more than 16 years between them, they waited for the Alpha to tell them their favourite story.

Well, Kael and Luchas’ favourite, Darius didn’t seem to care, odd considering he was next in line for the throne. The king knelt down by the fire, his mere presence demanding their attention. He held out his hand and gathered a large piece of ash and began to draw images on the floor.

“Once. Long long ago there was a kingdom. A powerful Vampire king stood high on his throne, brave and strong. But there came a time when even vampires grow old, and the king decided to divide his kingdom among his four sons, so they would hold the kingdom high as the sun and be as vast as the stars in the night sky." The king brushed away the ashen drawings and began again. Now drawing the four brothers, and beginning the new scene. “However the eldest did not condone the kings decision and wanted the whole kingdom for himself. So, the selfish prince went across the sea, and hunted down a female wolf to aid him. He demanded she give him the strength to overtake his brothers and rule the kingdom himself." another brush, and a new image began. The she-wolf and the eldest prince alone under the stars.

“Your wish will have consequences young prince." She said with warning. But he didn’t care. Instead he took the spell she gave him back to his kingdom. No sooner had he arrived, did he use the spell. Transforming himself into a massive beast, strong and powerful. Though he had never wished to harm them, merely to frighten them off, for however greedy he was for power he cared for his family more. Just as the she-wolf had said, he lost control killing all but the youngest of his kin. When the spell faded and he regained control, the prince wept with sorrow, for the kingdom he so coveted was in ruin and his beloved brothers were dead. When he saw that his youngest brother was alive but fading, for a wolf’s bite is deadly to a vampire, he rushed his brother back to the care of the she-wolf, demanding her aid. “Did I not say your actions would have consequences young prince? And now your brother lay dying by your own hand." “I do not care what it costs just heal him!" The prince said. “It will cost you your humanity, and your species their sunlight. You will be a wolf forever more, and your species will never be able to enter the sunlight again. But your brother will gain life and the life of my kind, though bound to the moon, like the rest of us he will survive." “Yes just do it. I care not." The she-wolf conjured her spell stripping the vampires of their ability to walk in the day, and turning the prince into an enormous Dire Wolf. While the youngest survived. Unaware of his brothers fate, he mated the she-wolf and they bred the first Dhampires. But due to their vampire origins were born of the fang and required the bite of a wolf to keep them alive past their teens." The king smiled down at the young ones. “We are all descended from the first Dhampire, and his brother still roams the woods outside this castle, protecting us as long as we can remember." “But papa. Wasn’t grandmahmen a warg?" Darius asked. “Yes. But that is a story for another night. What was the moral of this story?" the king asked looking on at the younglings. 

"The moral is do not be greedy, because if you are then your species suffers and that makes for a poor alpha and a poor king." Luchas said proudly. 

"That's correct Luchas, Darius you could learn a thing or two from your brother. Now off to bed all of you." The King stood, his power and pride showing in every movement as he left them all to their beds. 

Reaver has a slight weakness for country.... specifically Allan Jackson. 

TK: I want a Double-Double and crazy fries.

Me: You mean animal style fries?

Everyone: *laughs

TK: Umm, yeah that.

Darius: Are they animal shaped?

Me: *laughs No, they just have this special sauce on them.

Darius: Ohhh, I'll just get regular fries.

Me: Okay. (I order their food)

TK: Can you ask for green pepper?

Me: Yeah. (asks for green pepper... Two minutes later when we got the peppers...)

Darius: Did we get toys?

Everyone: *laughs

Me: No, these are green peppers.

Darius: You mean yellow peppers? They look yellow.
