arguably the best and only ocd advice that has ever worked for me (guy who has had debilitating can't-leave-the-house levels of ocd since it was 11 in all flavours and types) is noticing I am having some degree of intrusive thought/obsession, pausing, and going "I don't have to think about this rn" and then forcing myself to think about something else. does not work every time but it does work more times than not

highly underrated part of majority hanging out with plurals and systems and more people per peoples is the fun little sidequests and mysteries. like well neither you nor I know why your alter did that but by god I will make it my life's mission to unravel this mystery. We Will Find Out Together

Ngl this is gonna be lwk a hot take but I think the creation of "canon" and "fanon" as mutually exclusive concepts has led more and more people to treat fiction as something which either can be wholly disregarded in favour of your own interpretation/preferences, or something that must have biblical-levels of singular interpretation where deviation from it is a sign of lack of insight into the text. There is no singular correct interpretation of any text but the establishment of the idea of one I feel like leads people to fear creating their own readings because of the level of social media backlash caused by it. It's also just incredibly catholic thinking and I think that's silly for fandom
