So I recently got a job in retail. I work in one of those stores that sells a little bit of everything, makeup, snacks, toys, furniture, whatever. It's fine for the most part, I'm getting paid enough that I probably won't need quite as much of my parents money to afford spring semester.
However. We also sell squishies. Including these little dumpling blind box ones. I've only had one shift thus far where we had those dumplings in stock. It was madness. I do not have tiktok. I have never had tiktok. I do not care what happens on tiktok and have never watched any tiktok that didn't make its way to tumblr first.
Apparently those dumplings are tiktok famous and squishies in general are super popular over there. Every time we have those squishies a bunch of tired parents and excited children descend on the checkout counter like vultures on a carcass. I used to not care about squishies. Now I dread them. I, someone who does not use squishies and considers them frivolous and easily destroyed, must make recommendations to fanatics who buy 1 of each color.
I desperately hope the hype dies down soon. Curse you tiktok trends!!!
