//int. afterglow compound - day. sera @apocafics
Despite their history they've been trying to work through, Ashton would lie if he wasn't relieved to have Sera here with him, someone else from the militia, someone he could trust, well trust moreso than the others. Ash had been trying to make contact with his unit, their safety was still his responsibility, even while that mostly applies when they're in operation, but that didn't mean he didn't care about them out of missions, messages were out, some bounced back, some received, it was enough to feel comfortable, but it was a start.
He clicked his phone shut to reserve the juice it still had, looking up to Sera making her way to him, "I haven't been able to reach them yet," Ash sighed, rubbing his temples, frustrations bleeding through words, referring to making contact with their commanders, "how about you? Managed to contact any of them? Family, Atlas?"
