It had been a few hours since the team had arrived back at the hub and Tosh had spent that time trying to identify and examine the artefact they had recovered, making sure to run several scans at once.
Out of pure curiosity, and to visually examine it further, she picked up the device carefully, turning it over in her hands. When the item started to glow, she had been ready to place it back down and check her monitors to see what readings it had caused but before she could, a wave of heat radiated through the metal causing her to cry out in a mix of surprise and pain, dropping the device in the process. Cursing internally, she lifted her hands to look at the now reddened and blistered skin and sighed in frustration.
Turning around when she heard someone approach, she hesitated for a moment as she looked at Owen before frowning and giving a slight shrug of her shoulders. âIâŚI donât know what happened,â she tried, gesturing towards the device. âI was simply studying itâŚâ

Leaning against a tree with his eyes squeezed shut, Will tried to catch his breath, wincing each time he inhaled. He should have been quick enough to avoid the blow, but he had gotten distracted and the guard had managed to hit him in the chest. All he could be grateful for was the fight ending soon after.
At the sound of footsteps, he tensed up, hand moving from his chest to the handle of his axe as he opened his eyes. It was only when he saw who it was that he relaxed. âJolly,â he breathed out before his features contorted with pain again. âWhatâŚwhat are you d-doing here? You shouldâveâŚgone with the others,â
Pushing himself to step forward, he took a shaky breath, pain radiating down the right side of his chest.  âIâmâŚIâm fineâŚâ he muttered, gritting his teeth as he tried to ignore the pain and just focus on her. âWe need toâŚâ There was a pause as he winced again, shaking his head and trying to carry on. âTo get back to camp.â
