aisling still felt . . . less than, if she was being honest. she wasn’t doing her job as an alpha, in her opinion, even if her pack was allowing her excuses. aisling was back in the fold a tad more now, no longer running and hiding in the woods, but she still enjoyed the tranquility. plus, there were far fewer people to offer their condolences out here. her walk was peaceful, ears tuned to every little sound even if she wasn’t hunting. when she heard an unnatural step, aisling whirled around to see who it was. she relaxed immensely when she saw it was just a kid, a kid who smelled like wolf, her alpha brain offered. “are you following me?” she asked with raised eyebrows.
